My name is Jason Cathcart and I’m the owner and head DJ of Dance! Shout! Productions. I’ve been a DJ since 1995. I provide a personalized DJ experience for our clients that is classy but not stuffy.
1. When did you start your business and what was your inspiration?
I started Dance! Shout! In 2004. I wanted to be able to provide a level of personalized service I thought was missing from typical DJ entertainment. I get a lot of inspiration from seeing what world class events are doing, and I try to bring that to the couples I am lucky enough to work with.
2. What makes your business different from others?
I take the time to really get to know the couples I’ll be working with. I want to know their story, because each couple is different. How they met, how the proposal happened, and where their families come from all play a part in putting together a really personal evening of music and fun.
3. What is the best part of your job?
I get to be with people on the happiest day of their lives, and play a part in making that day even more fun. There is no downside to that.
4. What do you hope to achieve with each wedding?
With each wedding I DJ I hope to leave the guests wanting more. I want them to leave exclaiming that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to, and I want them to still be talking about it long after the last dance of the evening is done.
5. What was your most memorable wedding?
There have been a lot of really memorable weddings, so it’s hard to pick just one. I think the best ones are when the friends and family all come together to really celebrate the love of the couple that brought them together in that space and at that time.
