As much as I would love to have a capsule wardrobe, I can't for two main reasons:

1) I live in Calgary, Alberta. One day it is 23 degrees, the next day it is 6 degrees and snowing. My wardrobe literally has to have everything from sleeveless shirts to sweaters.

2) I have a professional full time job that requires business wear and I like to be active with my toddler. There is no way that I can go from work to the playground.

Now because of the attire I require for the different aspects of my life, I really can't afford the time to spend hours at the mall like I could when I was single. I need stores that are accessible, with clothes that fit my style/body, and has a great return policy. Here are my top three picks (in this not sponsored post):

No brainer as you are already shopping for groceries so why wouldn't you add a dress or cute top to the grocery bill? They have classic wardrobe staples with some trendy items. I usually go for the staples because I'm boring and it is so much easier to mix and match when you are in a rush. They have free shipping over $50 and if you need to return anything, you can just bring it with you the next time you go grocery shopping.

This is my favorite store for business wear and when I want to (think I) look like a posh mom. I consider their clothes to be timeless classics with a twist. When you work downtown Calgary, lots of people will wear a black blazer with a white shirt and black skirt. Zara puts their twist on these classics so you don't look like everyone else and still look professional.

Another amazing thing about Zara is their return process. Anything you want to return, you can do so in store or send it back in the box it came in with a return label. Drop it off at your nearest Canada Post and you are done. The returned funds is usually back in your bank account in 24 hours. (At least for me.) This process might sound onerous to some but for me, it is a dream come true. I get things shipped to work and I have a Canada Post across the street!

My everything store. Super easy to pick up a last minute birthday present, toddler socks, bathroom hand towels, and stunning pair of black pumps. The return policy is pretty awesome with your TJX Style Canada card, just need to remember to keep your receipt. Even if you can't find your receipt, you can still return it and get a giftcard. Which will get used really soon anyways!

A couple of other places that I go to are GAP, H&M, and the Bay (believe it or not.) These stores aren't my go-to places, rather my destination places. I have to know what I want before going there as it does involve a separate trip. They are on my radar but it takes more effort and really how many moms can handle putting more effort into yet another thing?!

What are your favorite places to shop? Let me know in the comments!!
